It is a great pleasure to have 80 countries that already confirmed participation in the International Physics Olympiad, which will take place on July 7-15, 2019 in Tel-Aviv.
We are happy to share the second circular, providing details on registration website, accommodation and exams.

Registration site: currently active until May 20th at www.ipho2019.org.il
We recommend that countries’ leaders will register for the entire team. Please use your e-mail
address to access the registration. Your personal password is: XXX
Please note that the following participant’s details are required:
• Full name as appears in the passport
• School name and address (for students)
• Passport details and copy (JPEG Format between 500-800 KB)
• Participant’s photography’s copy (JPEG Format between 150-250 KB)
• An audio file recording with the pronunciation of the participant’s name
• Full flights details
A confirmation e-mail will be sent to you, once you have finished filling out all the information
and clicked on the “submit” button. The e-mail will include a link that will allow you to make
changes to your registration, if needed.

Early check-in or late check out can’t be guaranteed and will be based on the hotel’s availability.
The hotels will do their best to accommodate delegation as soon as they will arrive.
Transportation and Hospitality – As already mentioned in the first circular, the organizers would provide meals, accommodation, and transportation during the event.
For those countries that plan to arrive to Israel on Saturday, due to restriction / limited in flights schedule, and in order to arrive on time to attend the Opening Ceremony, the hospitality will begin on July 6th, and will include dinner and accommodation. Please note that there are limited rooms available for the night of July 6th. The hospitality will end on July 15th, 2019 and will include lunch.
Transportation will include pick-up and drop-off at the Ben Gurion International Airport between
July 6th – 15th.
Delegations, who will choose to extend their stay over the official Olympiad dates, will have to book transfer and accommodation independently.
Calculators – Students can use calculator during the exams if it is not a graphical calculator, its display
has no more than three lines, and if its user memory is completely cleared immediately prior to each examination. Examples of allowed calculators:
• Casio fx-82MS
• Texas Instruments TI-30XB Multiview.
• Texas Instruments TI-30 ECO
• Hewlett Packard 10S+.
• CASIO-Scientific-Calculator-FX-991ES PLUS
ExamTool / Personal computers. The web-based software tool that was introduced in IPhO2016 will be used during IPhO2019 for discussions, voting, translating, marking and managing the exams. The organizer will provide one computer for each country, that will include web-browser and the local language that you will required in the registration form. Leaders can bring additional personal computers for their own use. Please note, that the technical team, on site, will not be able to support the personal computers.
Do not forget to bring your international power adapter.
Experimental kit – At the end of the Olympiad, experimental exam kits will be available for sale.
Welcome presentation. We are happy that many countries already chose to send 10 photos that present the best of their country. If you did not send it yet, please send it to email@example.com by
April 15th – the latest.
Visa: Visa application may be required depend on traveler’s origin. In case a visa is required, we recommend submitting the application ASAP. Please check for an Israel guide at https://www.gov.il/en/service/request_for_tourist_visa_b2.
Documents required for visa application: Application form, flight ticket, two photos, travel and
health insurance and invitation letter that will be provide by organizer upon request.
Please note that students under 18 years old will need a signed affidavit from both parents,
or from their legal guardian.
As with previous Olympiads, a participation fee is required as follows:
Team, that includes up to 5 students and 2 leaders – 3500 EUR
Observers 1800 EUR per person
Visitors 2000 EUR per person
Staying in a separate room – 750 EUR
Payment Methods: The preferably payment methods is to be made via bank transfer. All bank transfer payments must be completed before June 20, 2019.
Cash – payment by cash can be accepted upon arrival. A special desk will be available at the hotel.
You are kindly requested to bring accurate amount. A receipt will be provided on site.
